On paper the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos are siblings: the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, the same 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and almost identical dimensions. Spend a week with each, though, and they feel like cars built for different buyers.

Ride and handling
The Creta is tuned for comfort. It rounds off broken patches well and stays quiet at highway speeds. The Seltos has a firmer setup that feels tidier through corners but transmits more of the sharp edges in town.
Around town
Both DCTs creep smoothly in traffic. The Creta's lighter steering makes it the easier car to park; the Seltos feels more planted once the speedometer crosses 80.
Cabin and features
Creta: softer plastics, better rear-seat cushioning, panoramic sunroof.
Seltos: sharper dashboard design, head-up display, slightly better audio.
Both: ventilated front seats, 360° camera and wireless charging.
If most of your driving is in the city with family on board, the Creta is the calmer companion. If you enjoy the drive itself, the Seltos is more engaging.
Verdict
Price the exact variants you want on-road in your city — the difference is often under ₹60,000. Then compare them side by side and book back-to-back test drives on the same road.
